On 11th March 2005, the European Commission<\/a> adopted the European recommendation on the Charter for Researchers<\/a> (Brochures | EURAXESS<\/a><\/em>) and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers<\/a>, which aim to contribute to developing an attractive European labour market for researchers.<\/p>\n

The European Charter for Researchers<\/a> is a series of general principles and requisites that define the roles, responsibilities and rights of researchers, employers and funding organizations.<\/p>\n

The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers<\/a>, which does not differ a great deal from standard rules that govern contracts, underlines the importance of recruitment procedures being open and transparent and selection committees being diverse and experienced.<\/p>\n

The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)<\/strong> <\/a>is a tool implemented by the European Commission to support universities, research institutions and the organizations that finance research in applying the European Charter for the Researcher and the Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers (C&C).<\/p>\n
