Extended registration term for the\u00a0IV Course on Cristian and Visigothic archaeology<\/a><\/strong>, organized by the ICAC and the city council of Riba-roja de T\u00faria (Valencia). It will take place\u00a0from July 29 to August 16 i<\/strong>n the archaeological site of\u00a0 Valencia “la Vella”<\/em> (ancient Valencia).<\/p>\n

The course is specifically focused on Late Antique archaeology, its material culture and its historical issues at stake.<\/p>\n

Daily activity program mixes fieldwork<\/strong> in the archaeological site, with exercises of treatment and analyses of results<\/strong>, as well as different side activities<\/strong>\u00a0(lectures, master classes and visits to surrounding sites).<\/p>\n

The\u00a0IV Course on\u00a0Cristian and Visigothic archaeology<\/strong>\u00a0is an exceptional occasion to get close to the basic methodology of excavation and archaeological analysis, but also to work in a very special site, such as ancient Valencia (Valencia “la Vella”<\/em><\/a>)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Valencia “la Vella”<\/em> is an archaeological site from the Visigothic period in the municipality of Riba-roja de T\u00faria, located about 16 km from the city of Valencia. It is a walled spot on top of a hill in a spectacular area surrounding the Turia river within the Turia River Natural Park. You will find a fortified enclosure of about 4.5 ha extension where few archaeological interventions have been developed. It can be considered an almost unprecedented and fundamental place to understand the transformation of Valentia’s territory between the Visigothic and Muslim periods.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Visit the\u00a0collection of 3D models of the Visigothic settlement<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0of ancient Valencia in the platform Sketchfab.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Besides, the course will be held at the same dates as the IV Conference Program of Riba-roja de T\u00faria<\/strong>. The content of the lectures is directly related to the course and will be integrated into the activity program.<\/p>\n
