The project, applied along with other Catalan institutions within the Horizon 2020 call, has obtained this year the official recognition of the EU.<\/h6>\n

ICAC\u00a0(Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology) will be participating this year, the third edition of the event in Tarragona, in the European Researchers’ Night, that will be held on November, 27 under the leitmotiv\u00a0\u00abResearch for change\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is a public event devoted to the dissemination of science that is held every year in more than 300 cities in 30 countries in Europe at the same time. Its objective is to bring research and its protagonists closer to the public of all ages and to make research and innovation spread in a comprehensible and fun way.<\/p>\n

The Rovira i Virgili University<\/a> coordinates the activities organized in the Tarragona node, which includes the research institutes of the territory: Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICAC)<\/a>, Catalan Institute of Chemical Research (ICIQ)<\/a>, Institute of Health Research Pere Virgili (IISPV)<\/a> and Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution (IPHES)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2019 edition of the event brought in Tarragona more than 150 researchers from the URV and research institutes to participate in outreach activities. The core activity was a fair with 34 workshops, in the downtown of Tarragona. Also, there were workshops at several high schools of the territory and dissemination talks addressed to the general public.<\/p>\n

ICAC participation in the second edition of the European Researchers’ Night (2019) included four hands-on workshops, corresponding different ongoing research topics in the Institute.<\/h6>\n

  1. With animal bones we answer beastly questions<\/a>. With researchers L\u00eddia Colominas, Abel Gallego and Katie Tardio.<\/li>\n
  2. The pottery puzzle<\/a>. With researchers Josep Maria Macias and Francesc Rodr\u00edguez.<\/li>\n
  3. Experiment with heritage in 3D<\/a>. With researchers Ivan Fern\u00e1ndez, Karen Fortuny and Josep Maria Puche.<\/li>\n
  4. Find an archaeological site!<\/a>\u00a0With researchers Merkourios Georgiadis and H\u00e8ctor A. Orengo.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    La celebraci\u00f3n del evento en Tarragona cuenta con la colaboraci\u00f3n de la Diputaci\u00f3n de Tarragona y del Ayuntamiento de Tarragona, a trav\u00e9s de la Consejer\u00eda de Educaci\u00f3n y el Instituto Municipal de Educaci\u00f3n de Tarragona (IMET).<\/p>\n

    La Noche Europea de la Investigaci\u00f3n no hubiese sido posible sin todas aquellas instituciones y entidades que dieron apoyo log\u00edstico o econ\u00f3mico a fin de poder hacer realidad el montaje de las actividades, como fueron: el Mercado Central de Tarragona, las empresas Asesa, Borges y Siurana, el Ayuntamiento de Reus o la Asociaci\u00f3n para la Divulgaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica del Camp de Tarragona.<\/p>\n

    Financiaci\u00f3n europea a un proyecto conjunto en Catalunya<\/h5>\n

    La propuesta presentada para la tercera edici\u00f3n del certamen lleva por t\u00edtulo\u00a0EUNightCAT20<\/strong>\u00a0y ha conseguido por primera vez financiaci\u00f3n para el proyecto European Researchers\u2019 Night, dentro del programa Horizon 2020, despu\u00e9s que en las dos pasadas ediciones (2019 y 2018) se haya celebrado con el sello de Noche Asociada.<\/p>\n

    El proyecto EUNightCAT20\u00a0<\/strong>ha obtenido una muy buena puntuaci\u00f3n, con 14 de los 15 posibles puntos. En palabras de S\u00edlvia Simon, investigadora de la Universidad de Girona y coordinadora del proyecto, \u201cesta es la primera vez que la Noche Europea de la Investigaci\u00f3n en Catalunya se celebra con financiaci\u00f3n de la Comisi\u00f3n Europea y es un gran apoyo para poner en valor de cara a la sociedad la investigaci\u00f3n e innovaci\u00f3n catalanas\u201d.<\/p>\n

    Desde la primera edici\u00f3n, en 2018, la URV coordina el nodo de Tarragona; la Universidad de Girona es la instituci\u00f3n coordinadora del proyecto y tambi\u00e9n del nodo de Girona; la Asociaci\u00f3n Catalana de Comunicaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica con la colaboraci\u00f3n de ISGlobal coordina el nodo de Barcelona; la Universidad de Lleida coordina el nodo de Lleida i esta edici\u00f3n se ha incorporado tambi\u00e9n la Universidad de Vic como coordinadora del nodo de Catalunya Central.<\/p>\n

    El proyecto cuenta tambi\u00e9n con el apoyo de distintas entidades, como la UOC, la Universidad Pompeu Fabra (UPF), la Fundaci\u00f3 Catalana per la Recerca i la Innovaci\u00f3 (FCRi), la agencia AGAUR (Ag\u00e8ncia de Gesti\u00f3 d\u2019Ajuts Universit\u00e0ries i de Recerca) y la ACUP (Asociaci\u00f3n Catalana de Universidades P\u00fablicas), entre otras.<\/p>\n
