ICAC\u00a0Landscape Archaeology Research Group (GIAP)<\/a>\u00a0in collaboration with researchers from\u00a0Carleton College<\/a> (USA), the\u00a0Florida State University <\/a>(USA) and the\u00a0Cambridge University<\/a>\u00a0(UK) have launched an international initiative to collect information on archaeological survey projects in the Mediterranean and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

The project aims to develop an open-access database on<\/strong> The Fieldwalker<\/a>\u00a0portal, with an interactive map<\/strong>\u00a0that has already started to locate current and finished archaeological survey projects\u00a0throughout the Mediterranean. Special mention is made to projects with public open data available.<\/p>\n

At the same time, resulting data analysis will be published in an extensive paper in the scientific journal\u00a0Journal of Archaeological Research<\/em><\/a>, with which all these projects will be disseminated and which will include an exhaustive list of bibliographic references.<\/p>\n

All kind of archaeological surveys can be included in the database, regardless of the method used.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

To collect as much information as possible, an online form<\/strong><\/a> has been launched to encourage research and professional teams to contact with the initiative and provide information about their projects (also available in\u00a0Spanish<\/a>).<\/p>\n

All kind of archaeological surveys can be included in the database, regardless of the method used. They can be ongoing projects or finished ones, as well as academic or professional projects.<\/p>\n
