This scientific journal has a history of more than one hundred years, being the oldest in Catalonia in its genre. It is published with the sponsorship of <a href=\"https:\/\/fundaciomutuacatalana.org\/pagina\/contactar\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fundaci\u00f3 Privada M\u00fatua Catalana<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarragona.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tarragona City Council<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.diputaciodetarragona.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tarragona Provincial Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight-block\">\n<p>Current issue of the journal has the participation of the ICAC researchers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jcanela\/\" target=\"_blank\">Joan Canela<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jlopez\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jordi L\u00f3pez Vilar<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jfroig\/\" target=\"_blank\">Josep Francesc Roig<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jruizdearbulo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Joaqu\u00edn Ruiz de Arbulo<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jcruiz\/\" target=\"_blank\">Julio C. Ruiz<\/a>\u00a0y\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/pterrado\/\" target=\"_blank\">Patricia Terrado<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is a 284-page hardcover, cloth-bound volume that is richly illustrated. It includes a dozen articles written by 19 researchers who belong to different institutions in Tarragona, Barcelona, \u200b\u200bSaragossa and Rome, written basically in Catalan, but also in Spanish and Italian.<\/p>\n<p>The book opens with a paper on the <strong>Protohistoric town of Alt Camp<\/strong> (Tarragona), based on archaeological works carried out by ICAC visiting researcher <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jcanela\/\" target=\"_blank\">Joan Canela<\/a>\u00a0and N\u00faria Otero in the years 2012-2014.<\/p>\n<p>Then follows a block with different issues about <strong>Roman Tarraco<\/strong>. Antonio Mostalac and Carmen Guiral talk about the Roman mural painting found in the archaeological works in the Tarragona Port 19th century quarry; Antonio Pe\u00f1a renews the debate on the decoration of the portico of the acropolis cult temple; and <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jcruiz\/\" target=\"_blank\">Julio C. Ruiz<\/a>, ICAC PhD researcher, writes about <strong>epigraphy as a topographic source<\/strong>, focusing on inscriptions on buildings and sacred spaces of a public nature. This Tarraco section ends with a collective article that presents new fragments of Visigothic architectural sculpture.<\/p>\n<p>The book also includes two papers on <strong>Roman archaeological sites around Tarragona<\/strong>: a study of the coins from the Roman town of Mas dels Frares de Constant\u00ed, by ICAC researcher <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jlopez\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jordi L\u00f3pez Vilar<\/a>; and a work on an inscription engraved on a <em>dolium<\/em> in the Roman town of Cal\u00edpolis (Vila-seca), by the same author in collaboration with URV-ICAC researcher <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/jruizdearbulo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Joaqu\u00edn Ruiz de Arbulo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Modern Era<\/strong>\u00a0gets present with different contributions: a study by Sandra Cano on the bibliographic collections of non-Christian classical authors in the Library of the Pontifical Seminary of Tarragona; one by ICAC visiting researcher <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/en\/who-are-we\/staff\/pterrado\/\" target=\"_blank\">Patricia Terrado<\/a>\u00a0and Joan Menchon presenting an unpublished map of Tarragona from 1811; a paper by Anna Serra on late baroque bell towers from Tarragona; and updated news on the sacred sculpture from Scala Dei.<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight-block\">\n<p>As a<strong> contribution to<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>year Serra Vilar\u00f3<\/strong>, Italian archaeologists Anna Maria Liberati publishes the paper \u201cJoan Serra i Vilar\u00f3, Roma 1938.
