The commitment to so-called Open Science<\/a> requires a complete review of the mechanisms for evaluating scientific activity<\/strong> and, especially, the real impact of this activity.<\/p>\n

We must abandone inadequate, biased and incomplete metrics, while explaining their defects and limitations, to favor the adoption of a more precise, rich and varied scenario.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This Thursday, June 17, at the ICAC will have the honor of having the presence of the specialist in bibliometrics Isidro F. Aguillo<\/strong><\/a>, head of the Cybermetry Laboratory<\/a> (Scimago Group) of the Institute of Public Goods and Policies<\/a> (IPP – CSIC<\/a>).
\n<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Aguillo<\/a>\u00a0will be giving a talk <\/a>to ICAC staff, entitled ‘Open Science: Journal Metrics, Paper Metrics and Profiles’<\/a><\/strong>, within the framework of the ICAC actions, as a CERCA center<\/a>, for the implementation of our\u00a0HRS4R strategy<\/a>.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The talk will\u00a0intend, in a practical way, to propose the use of new sources and indicators that reflect more and better the impacts of research.<\/span><\/p>\n

An activity coordinated by Lydia Gil, in charge of the\u00a0Documentation Centre and Library<\/a>\u00a0at the ICAC.<\/p>\n
