The GIAP research group of the ICAC-CERCA joins the AccessCat Network to work on accessibility in archaeology.<\/h6>\n

The AccessCat Network<\/strong><\/a> (Catalonia’s Accessibility Innovation Network: Media, Education, and Culture) is an initiative of the Generalitat de Catalunya aimed at promoting accessibility to information and communication, bridging the gap between the research world and the social and business bodies.<\/p>\n

The AccessCat Network promotes and develops the transfer and valorization of research results in accessibility.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Also joining the network are the research groups GRIHO (UdL)<\/a>, which will work on digital accessibility, and Neolcyt (UAB)<\/a>, which will work on clear communication.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the Network is to create innovative solutions that meet the needs of a diverse society and contribute to equal access to information, culture, and education, as established by the Declaration of Human Rights (adopted and proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948).<\/p>\n

Since its creation on January 1, 2023, the AccessCat Network<\/a> has been supported and financed by the Department of Research and Universities<\/a> (2021XARDI00007) of the Generalitat de Catalunya.<\/p>\n

After formally signing the addendum to the AccessCat agreement, members of the GIAP research group<\/a> will be able to participate fully in all activities, meetings, and calls aimed at AccessCat members.<\/p>\n

\n

The GIAP<\/a>‘s accession to the network reflects its commitment and work on accessibility in archaeology in educational, museum, and public administration settings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Josep Maria Palet<\/a> will represent ICAC-CERCA on the Network Council, and Dr. Marta Fl\u00f3rez<\/a> will represent GIAP.<\/p>\n

About the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICAC-CERCA)<\/h6>\n

The\u00a0Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICAC-CERCA)<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0a CERCA center<\/strong>\u00a0established as a consortium in 2003 by the Government of Catalonia and the Rovira i Virgili University. It is a Catalan institution with an international scope, at the forefront of research and conservation of archaeological heritage. Its headquarters are located in Tarragona, a city recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000.
