Around 250 researchers from URV and the CERCA research centers in Tarragona offered about fifty proposals over two days to bring science closer to the public.<\/h6>\n

The seventh edition of the European Researchers\u2019 Night<\/a> once again sparked the curiosity and interest of families, who did not miss their annual appointment at Corsini Square in Tarragona. About 5,000 people visited the workshop fair organized this Friday and Saturday by more than 250 researchers from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and the research institutes in the region: ICAC<\/a>, ICIQ<\/a>, IISPV<\/a> and IPHES<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This was the main event of the European Researchers\u2019 Night, a public event aimed at popularizing science that takes place simultaneously in more than 300 European cities and has been organized in the Tarragona region since 2018.<\/p>\n

The workshop fair offered about fifty diverse activities, allowing children and their families to explore various scientific disciplines in an experimental, fun, and understandable way. But most importantly, they were able to do so alongside the researchers who work on these topics every day.<\/p>\n

ICAC-CERCA participated with three workshops to introduce the public to the Roman world from the perspective of trade, craftsmanship, and daily life, with Maria Rueda<\/a>, Marta Fl\u00f3rez<\/a>, Ada Richaud<\/a> and Jordi Oliver<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To reach a wide audience, other activities were also organized as part of the European Researchers\u2019 Night, such as the session of micro scientific talks held in Reus on Thursday, September 26, and more than thirty talks and workshops that researchers presented in secondary schools across the region throughout the week.<\/p>\n

From ICAC-CERCA, PhD researcher Maria Anguera<\/a> (MIRMED) gave the talk “What is Archaeology? An Example Applied to the Iberian Era” to a group of high school students at INS Pons d’Icart in Tarragona. Postdoctoral researcher David Montanero<\/a><\/span> (MIRMED) gave the talk “Who Were the Phoenicians? What is Archaeology? A Simple Way to Learn and Understand the Past” to a group of primary school students at Escola Riera Alta in Santa Coloma de Gramenet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
