The event served as an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the cultural heritage of Constant\u00ed, providing a rich and diverse look at the town’s history through a multidisciplinary lens.<\/h6>\n

Last Friday, September 27, the square in front of the Refugi in Constant\u00ed became the venue for the launch of the 40th edition of Estudis de Constant\u00ed<\/em><\/a>, an annual journal dedicated to historical and social research on the town.<\/p>\n

The event <\/a>featured remarks from Constant\u00ed\u2019s mayor, \u00d3scar S\u00e1nchez, and Dr. Josep M. Macias<\/a>, an archaeologist from the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICAC-CERCA), who introduced the special issue\u2019s contents.<\/p>\n

In his opening speech, the mayor announced plans for a special celebration next year to mark the 40th anniversary of the journal’s first publication. He also paid tribute to the late Professor Theodor Hauschild<\/strong>, recognizing his pivotal role in the recovery and international recognition of the Roman site at Centcelles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dr. Macias, who coordinates the research team on Late Antique and Christian Archaeology and has led numerous excavations at the Roman villa of Mas dels Frares<\/a> in Constant\u00ed, gave a detailed overview of the seven articles featured in this year\u2019s edition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

These articles cover a wide range of topics, including the arrival of Roman art, a deep dive into the Roman villa of Centcelles, and studies on subjects like ecclesiastical land registers, immigration, and Francoist repression in Constant\u00ed.<\/p>\n

    The journal Estudis de Constant\u00ed<\/em><\/strong><\/a> is an annual publication that covers a wide range of topics related to Constant\u00ed, with a particular focus on studies within the social sciences. Published by the Constant\u00ed City Council, it first appeared in 1985. From issue 4 (1988) to issue 30 (2014), it was co-published with the Constant\u00ed Study Center.
