Aquests s\u00f3n dos dels principals resultats de l\u2019estudi que s\u2019est\u00e0 portant a terme dins del projecte europeu <a href=\"http:\/\/portuslimen.eu\/\">Portuslimen <\/a>amb la col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 de l\u2019ICAC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPer extensi\u00f3, el port de T\u00e0rraco es pot comparar amb ports d\u2019escala regional com el port de Leptis Magna (L\u00edbia), per\u00f2 no amb grans ports com Porto, el port de Roma, o Alexandria\u201d, explica <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/archaeology\/about\/staff\/sjk1.page\" target=\"_blank\">Simon Keay<\/a> (University of Southampton), l\u00edder del projecte. Una grand\u00e0ria modesta, per\u00f2, no vol dir que l\u2019activitat econ\u00f2mica que generava T\u00e0rraco fos petita, perqu\u00e8 l\u2019estructura comercial mar\u00edtima era molt m\u00e9s complexa.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_25016\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25016\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/43_port_tgn2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-25016 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/43_port_tgn2-400x176.jpg\" alt=\"Pl\u00e0nol de Juan de Santacruz de l'any 1780 on encara hi ha l\u2019escullera romana.\" width=\"400\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/43_port_tgn2-400x176.jpg 400w, https:\/\/icac.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/43_port_tgn2-1024x451.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-25016\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pl\u00e0nol de Juan de Santacruz de l&#8217;any 1780 on encara hi ha l\u2019escullera romana.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>En aquest sentit, \u201cel port de la T\u00e0rraco romana no s\u2019ha d\u2019entendre com un sol port, sin\u00f3 com un port del Mediterrani que d\u00f3na servei a una gran \u00e0rea i est\u00e0 en un context d\u2019altres ports del litoral tarraconense, com el port del M\u00e8dol i de Salou\u201d, afirma <a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/qui-som\/personal\/jmmacias\/\" target=\"_blank\">Josep M. Macias<\/a>, investigador de l\u2019ICAC i col\u00b7laborador del projecte Portuslimen a Tarragona. T\u00e0rraco, doncs, especialment entre els segles I aC i II dC, era \u201cel focus de tot un sistema de ports petits i mitjans, embarcadors, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/43_port_tgn3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-25017 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/43_port_tgn3-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"43_port_tgn3\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/icac.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/43_port_tgn3-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/icac.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/43_port_tgn3.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3 s\u2019ha fet gr\u00e0cies a una doble metodologia, duta a terme a la Part Baixa de Tarragona el novembre del 2015: prospeccions geof\u00edsiques i perforacions per llegir la seq\u00fc\u00e8ncia sedimentol\u00f2gica del port. Estudiar la Mediterr\u00e0nia globalment com un \u00fanic sistema de ports, superant la dicotomia est\/oest, i no estudiar port per port, \u00e9s l\u2019objectiu principal de la recerca.
