El investigador posdoctoral Alfredo Mayoral<\/a> (GIAP<\/a>), que ha iniciado recientemente un contrato Juan de la Cierva – Incorporaci\u00f3n<\/a> en el ICAC, coordina la sesi\u00f3n #230<\/a> del pr\u00f3ximo congreso internacional de la asociaci\u00f3n European Association of Archaeologists (EAA)<\/a>, que se celebrar\u00e1 en Budapest del 31 de agosto al 3 de septiembre de 2022.<\/p>\n

La sesi\u00f3n se titula \u201cSediment and soil archives to decipher human-environment interactions in wetland landscapes from the Neolithic to the XXth century\u201d<\/strong>, y la organizan Alfredo Mayoral<\/a> (ICAC) y Andr\u00e9-Marie Dendeviel (Universidad de Lyon – ENTPE – CNRS).<\/p>\n

Call for abstracts<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

This session focuses on the use of soils and sediments to decipher the interactions between climate, paleoenvironments, and past societies in wetland landscapes. This approach relies on the collection and processing of geoarchaeological or paleoecological data to reconstruct socio-environmental changes in diverse cultural and chronological contexts. We propose to challenge the intercomparison of multidisciplinary data by discussing how multi-proxy analyses of soil and sediment archives from wetlands can be combined with archaeological data in order to reconstruct long-term trajectories of socio-ecosystems \u2013and the resulting cultural landscapes\u2013 from the Neolithic to the XXth century. The contributions will combine archaeological studies (excavation, surveys, historical data) with a broad analytical panel of sedimentary archives (from field geomorphology and paleopedology to physico-chemical characterization and microscopic approaches). Beyond discussing socio-environmental interaction, this session will also be the place to debate broader issues such as implications for cultural heritage, wetlands reclamation, and lessons for the future management and sustainability of cultural landscapes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
