New announcement for the position of director of the ICAC: the call for the applications opened September, 10.

The Board of Directors of the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology agreed, on June 27, 2019, to convene the position of director of the Institute, which has been covered with an acting position for the last months.

Since its opening in 2002, the ICAC is been directed by Josep Guitart (2002-2006), Isabel Rodà (2007-2012), Joan Gómez Pallarès (2013-2018) and Josep Maria Palet (acting director since 2018).

The director position is the figure of maximum responsibility in the ICAC. The director is responsible for leading the day to day running of the institution and the execution of the Board of Directors’ agreements.

The ICAC is seeking applicants with a distinguished record of scientific excellence and the innovative thinking necessary to lead a dynamic organisation. Applicants must have a PhD or comparable degree. They need to have managed international projects. Knowledge of the Spanish Scientific environment will be considered an added value.

The appointment will be for a period of 4 years, which could be extended up to a maximum of 8 years. Applicants should send a CV and a cover letter by e-mail to the Director of CERCA (applications@cerca.cat). The application deadline ends on October, 20.
