The Institut Català d’Arqueologia Clàssica has recently welcomed Ms. Lluna Magarolas as a predoctoral researcher under the Joan Oró fellowship program for the recruitment of predoctoral research personnel in training (FI 2025), supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Thanks to this fellowship, she will develop her doctoral thesis titled ‘Estructuració del territori, patrons d’assentament i articulació del sistema de villae a l’ager Tarraconensis entre el període tardo-republicà i l’època imperial‘.
Magarolas holds a degree in Art History and Archaeology from the URV, and she completed the Master’s Degree in Applied Classical Archaeology: Research and Transfer (URV-ICAC-UAB).
As part of her academic training, she has actively participated in several ICAC research projects, such as the excavations at the Roman villa of Mas dels Frares and the coordination of the cleaning and geophysical survey campaign at the Mas d’en Bosc site, as part of her master’s thesis, El centre productor vitivinícola de Mas d’en Bosc (Constantí, ager Tarraconensis).
Her doctoral thesis will be co-supervised by ICAC researchers Josep Maria Palet (GIAP) and Josep Maria Macias (MIRMED).
We welcome Lluna and wish her great success in this new stage!
