
This master’s program is an interesting proposal for all those who wish to deepen their study of the material culture of antiquity with a rigorous and professional methodological framework.
The official master’s degree in Applied Classical Archaeology. Research and Transfer is aimed at graduates in the fields of Archaeology, Classical Studies, Art History, History, Anthropology, and Architecture, among others, who want to specialize in both the new professional fields of archaeology and geographic information systems and artificial intelligence applied to landscape archaeology, lapidary archaeometry, archaeometry applied to bioarchaeological remains, and 3D restitution of architectural remains.
Depending on the choice of second semester optional subjects, students can follow a specific academic curriculum focused on:
- Landscape Archaeology
- Archaeology of architecture
- Archaeology of cultural material
Structure of the master’s program:
- First semester (from September to January): In-person and synchronous virtual classes.
- Second semester (from February to June): In-person and synchronous virtual classes, and master’s thesis.
The three institutions that promote the degree, URV, UAB, and ICAC, have been collaborating since 2006 in specialized training in classical archaeology, contributing their expertise and a highly qualified teaching team.
The in-person component of the master’s program is concentrated in practical and laboratory activities, while theoretical classes are taught online through the URV virtual campus (Moodle) or in a hybrid mode.
There is the possibility of obtaining grants to cover the costs of this mobility, as well as grant programs from the different participating institutions.
