Following the recepction and acceptance of the proposals, the organizing committee of the International Congress Dolia ex Hispania presents the provisional programme of the congress.
The conference aims to establish itself as a reference point for studies on Roman ceramics, with a particular focus on the production and commercialization of amphorae and dolia in the Western Mediterranean during the Roman period. These vessels, essential for the storage and transportation of goods, are a key element in understanding the economic and trade dynamics in the Roman world.
The International Conference Amphorae et Dolia will take place at the ICAC (Tarragona) on 29 and 30 October 2025.
The second call of the congress includes the provisional programme, which features more than 40 papers and 8 keynote lectures by internationally renowned specialists. The presentations will address the production, circulation, and use of amphorae and dolia in archaeological contexts Hispania, Gaul, and Roman Italy, as well as a Varia section that includes papers on contexts from other Roman provinces.
The congress will be held in the ICAC’s Assembly Hall and will be structured in morning and afternoon sessions. Each paper will have a maximum presentation time of 15 minutes, with time allocated for discussion at the end of each thematic block.
