For the second consecutive evaluation, the institute has received an A in the evaluation of the social impact narrative conducted by the CERCA institution.
The institute presented a social impact narrative on “High Mountain Cultural Landscapes.” This is based on the research developed by the GIAP research group, led by Prof. Josep Maria Palet.
An international panel was responsible for evaluating the different CERCA centers. For the ICAC, they highlighted:
- An impact based on high-quality research.
- The cross-sectional reach of the impact generated in different fields such as politics, tourism, and the revaluation of professional profiles.
- The excellent joint work with different local agents.
- The value of cultural heritage conservation.
- The contribution of the Arqueoroutes to the de-seasonalisation of tourist activity.
- The good presentation of the “impact pathway,” providing evidence and proof of the work done and the impacts generated.
The excellent result obtained highlights the work and strategies of the Social Impact and Transfer Unit (UTIS), which was launched by the ICAC management in 2023. It is a success we want to share with CERCA, demonstrating the effectiveness of promoting training and evaluation in social impact and encouraging us to continue working towards high-quality research and its transfer and impact on society.
