Brief CV
Liz is a palynologist and archaeologist specializing in palaeoenvironmental reconstructions in the Mediterranean and in the study of interactions between past human societies and their environment. She holds a double degree in History and Geology from Sorbonne Université (2017–2020) and a Master’s degree in Quaternary and Prehistory from Universitat Rovira i Virgili and the University of Ferrara (2020–2022). She completed her PhD with a thesis focused on the palynological study of a marine sequence from the Alboran Sea, contributing to a better understanding of palaeoclimatic and palaeoenvironmental conditions in the southwestern Mediterranean during the Middle and Late Pleistocene.
On 1 September 2026, she joined the Landscape Archaeology Research Group (GIAP) at the ICAC as a postdoctoral researcher within the HUM-DYNLANDS project (PID2024-159956NB-I00), led by Dr. Josep M. Palet, who will coordinate Liz’s research project together with Dr Valentina Pescini. Her current research focuses on reconstructing the long-term history of vegetation and understanding the formation of cultural landscapes in the high mountains of the eastern Pyrenees, particularly in Cerdanya, using high-resolution palynological data from lakes and peat bogs.
