With iconographic studies of Roman sculptures in Gaul and Tunisia, her research interests encompass ancient quarrying, the Roman marble trade and distribution, and Aegean archaeology. Maria-Pia Darblade-Audoin is a French scholar specialising in Roman art and archaeology, with a particular focus on the sculptural decoration of theatres and odea in Roman Gaul. She completed her doctoral thesis on this subject in 1998 at the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne, under the supervision of Robert Turcan. She has also taught at the University of Lyon III.
