Workshop “Foodways and trade in the Roman provinces of Germania: an interdisciplinary approach”.
This workshop aims to explore how food, trade and cultural exchange contributed to the transformation of the northern territories of Germania under Roman influence and will bring together specialists from different disciplines (archaeozoology, archaeobotany, anthracology and ceramology). The aim is to contextualise the results of the various findings in order to provide an overview of the foodways in the research area. Presentations will focus on trade networks and commodities in the Roman provinces of Germania, interdisciplinary methodologies in the study of foodways, and changes in food production and consumption.
